Via ferratas

Equipped routes on the walls of the Alto Garda: exposure, adrenaline and breathtaking panoramas.

Setting
In flight and on the vertical
Where
Alto Garda, Riva and Arco · 35-45 min
When
April – October
Level
From easy to challenging via ferrata

Via ferratas are routes equipped with steel cables, ladders and rungs that make it possible to tackle vertical walls with a harness and via ferrata kit. The Alto Garda has some famous ones.

The most famous is the one climbing to Cima Capi above Riva del Garda: exposed, airy, with the lake appearing sheer beneath your feet. There are also easier routes, suited to those who have never worn a harness — always to be tackled with a guide the first time.

Da sapere

01

Cima Capi

The most famous via ferrata in the Alto Garda: exposed and spectacular, with the lake plunging below.

02

With a mountain guide

Compulsory on your first time out: they provide the kit, harness, helmet and safety.

03

A matter of nerve

It's not about strength but about the drop: if heights make you uneasy, start with an easy via ferrata.

The Belfiore tip

Don't improvise: do your first via ferrata with a guide. The difference between having fun and getting scared lies entirely there.
