Sound Bath – Gong Concert

On Friday 21 August, at 17.00, on Acquafresca beach there will be an elegant concert featuring the gong and other musical instruments. Gongs are a class of musical instruments, belonging to the directly struck percussion idiophones, defined as vessels, played with a non-sonorous object, in which the vibration is strongest near the apex. A gong is usually made of a large metal disc, generally circular in shape.

This disc can also be made of copper. The gong is generally an instrument of indeterminate pitch, although in some percussion methods it is described only as an instrument of definite pitch. The gong is an instrument dating back more than 4,000 years.
