Two winds a day, punctual as clockwork: Lake Garda is one of the most celebrated windsurfing destinations in the world.
On Lake Garda the wind is no hypothesis: it is a certainty. The Peler descends from the north in the early morning, taut and cold; the Ora rises from the south from the early afternoon, constant for hours. This regularity has made the Upper Garda one of the most frequented training grounds in Europe, with Olympic national teams spending the winter here.
The classic spots are Torbole — the Mecca, with the race course and the best-equipped schools — and Malcesine, closer to us, with deep water and clean wind. The schools rent out everything and teach from the very first level: there's no need to arrive with your board under your arm.
A north wind, from first light until mid-morning. More vigorous, suited to those with some experience.
A south wind, from early afternoon until evening. Steady and predictable: perfect for learning.
In Torbole and Malcesine you'll find full rental, private and group lessons, and support on the water.
If it's your first time, book for the afternoon: the Ora is steadier and far more forgiving than the Peler.
Trusted schools, rentals and guides: we'll book everything for you — all you have to do is show up.
