The largest island on the lake: a Venetian neo-Gothic villa and formal Italian gardens, open only by reservation.
It is the largest island on Lake Garda, and to this day it still belongs to the Cavazza family. There are no roads, no shops: only a villa in the Venetian neo-Gothic style built in the early twentieth century, and the gardens.
What gardens. Italian-style terraces with geometric hedges, then an English park sloping down towards the water, with palms, cypresses, agaves, lemons, capers and rare plants brought from half the world over. All of it surrounded by the lake on every side.
The history runs deep: here Saint Francis of Assisi founded a hermitage in 1220, then came the friars, then the noble families. It can be visited by reservation only, aboard boats departing from the harbours of the riviera: it is a half-day excursion and must be arranged in advance.
Built in the early 20th century in the Venetian style, overlooking the water from every window. Still inhabited by the family.
Geometric terraces, palms, agaves and rare plants from all over the world, with the lake all around.
In 1220 the saint founded a hermitage here. The island is a place of history as well as of beauty.

It must be booked in advance and can only be visited on a guided group tour: ask us to arrange it, we'll take care of everything.
Stay in Brenzone and reach this and the other spots on the lake, even by water.
