A fortified hilltop castle, the gateway to the Valtenesi and its wineries.
Above the village, on a morainic hill, stands the castle of Padenghe: not a military fortress but a ricetto, a fortified refuge where the population sheltered with their belongings during raids. Within the walls the houses, the alleys and the well are still there: you stroll through a hamlet from the 10th century.
Padenghe is the gateway to the Valtenesi: from here begins the road of wines and olive trees that winds through the hills all the way to Salò. Wineries, oil mills, vine rows and olive groves as far as the eye can see.
On the lake, a modern marina, equipped beaches and a green lakeside promenade with a view over the gulf of Desenzano.
A fortified hamlet from the 10th century, with the houses still inside the walls. Open to visit freely.
The Valtenesi begins here: wineries, oil mills and hills of vines and olive trees all the way to Salò.
Green, peaceful, with an open view over the gulf of Desenzano. Perfect for a stroll.

Climb up to the castle at sunset: from above, the hills of the Valtenesi light up and the lake is visible all the way to Sirmione.
Stay in Brenzone and reach this and the other spots on the lake, even by water.
